The term "gutta percha" is derived from the Malay words "getah" and "pertja," meaning "tree sap" and "hardened," respectively. It has been widely recognized for its remarkable properties and diverse applications.
The substance is typically pale yellow or brown in color and has a soft and pliable texture. It can be easily molded into different shapes when heated but becomes hard and rigid when cooled. Gutta percha exhibits excellent electrical insulation properties, making it ideal for use in the manufacturing of electrical cables and wires.
